Get into Youth Work
Aimed at 16-25 year olds, the Get into
programme is a taster course designed to give young people the
skills and qualifications required to gain employment.
Offering work experience and industry
recognised certification combined with support and confidence
building, the Get into programme really helps prepare participants
for the world of work.
Get into Youth Work
Get into Youth Work is a course for unemployed
young adults, aged 16-25, who have already been through a personal
development course like The Trust’s Team programme.
The programme offers two training residentials
with other young adults to gain the basic principles of youth work
as well as one-to-one coaching as well as real work experience
working face-to-face with young people for a minimum of 40
hours.
Participants can also work towards building
evidence for a portfolio to work towards an SQA Professional Development Award in Youth Work at SCQF Level
6.
Get into Youth Work also helps participants
learn about different types of youth work, make contacts in the
field as well as making new friends.
By the end of the course, participants have
the training, work experience and qualifications necessary for a
job in youth work and will receive support from The Trust as they
move forward into a job.
Get into Youth Work is delivered on a part
time basis over a three month period and the following video gives
