Celebrating success as one organisation
Over the last few months, regions have been
hosting their Celebrate Success finals. These are great occasions
to celebrate the fantastic achievements of our young people.
For
some regions this is the first time that both Prince’s Trust and
Fairbridge staff have come together for a joint event.
In particular, this was the first event that
London and South East region had held together since the
integration. It took place at Arsenal’s Emirates Stadium and was
hosted by Konnie Huq. Many people said how much they enjoyed the
event and seeing young people celebrated as one team. For some it
was a turning point for feeling part of a merged organisation.
“I thought the Celebrate Success Awards
event last night was absolutely fantastic. All of
our staff, young people and supporters who attended thoroughly
enjoyed it and I have already had a lot of feedback about what a
well put together and worthwhile event it was. For many of these
guys this was their first big Prince’s Trust event, and you really
made everyone feel so welcome and part of what we were celebrating.
On a personal note, I think the thing that stood out the most for
me is how much the young people gained from being celebrated within
such prestigious surroundings".
We all do our best to celebrate young
people's achievements every day, but having an event like last
night’s just takes that to a whole new level. Seeing them walk onto
the stage, receive their awards and be cheered by such a large
crowd was amazing and, I have to admit, left me fighting back the
tears several times.
"I realise that an awful lot of work went into
organising last night and I just wanted to let you know that it is
very much appreciated - so thank you so much to everyone involved
- from all of us at the Hackney Centre".
