The Cricket Initiative

With the ongoing support of 10 First Class County Cricket Clubs and Marylebone Cricket Club  The Trust has helped close to 2,500 young people to get their lives working through cricket.

Cricket news

  • Last summer, nine teams of young people had the opportunity to bat, bowl and field on the hallowed ground of Lord's in the 2011 Prince's Trust xl Cricket Festival.
  • The Prince’s Trust has recently joined forces with four County Cricket Boards, with support from The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB).
  • Leicestershire County Cricket Club played host to the latest group of young people on the Prince's Trust Team programme.
  • The latest Team course marks the resumption of a partnership with Derbyshire Cricket Club.
  • The second annual Prince's Trust and Chance to shine festival highlighted the power of sport to transform young lives.
  • A great week of cricket and ECB's Young Leader Award workshops ended with a visit from Paul Smith, former Warwickshire Cricketer and Prince's Trust Ambassador
  • A video exploring sports and The Prince's Trusts work with young people along with new sports initiatives and partners in the world of sport
  • To celebrate the npower Ashes Series 2009, the England and Wales Cricket Board and the Royal Mint joined to produce an official licensed limited edition gold medal.
  • Pupils from eight different schools across London were battling to win The Prince's Trust’s first cricket festival.
  • Prince's Trust Ambassador Paul Smith visited Penryn college to help xl club members with their communication skills
