Mike Clare is the founder of Dreams, the
nationwide bed retailer. Having sold the business in 2008, Mike has
become involved with The Prince’s Trust as an Enterprise
Fellow.

Mike discovered his entrepreneurial bent while at college:
buying, repairing and selling bicycles.
In the 1980s he began in the furniture trade, starting the firm
that would become Dreams. Last year sales at the bed retailer
soared to nearly £200 million. Mike is a passionate advocate of
vocational education.
