Dr. Gerard O'Hare CBE DL
Dr. Gerard O'Hare CBE, DL is one of
Ireland's most successful entrepreneurs. His property
company 'Parker Green International', manages an extensive
portfolio of Irish, UK and International Investment including CEE
& USA.
Dr. O'Hare is a visiting Professor at the University
of Ulster and the Harvard Graduate School of Design. He is Chairman
of the University of Ulster Foundation; and in 2004 established a
Chair in Property Development & Design at the university to
promote academic excellence.
Newry born Dr. O’Hare is a very active supporter of the region’s
economic development. He is a former President of the Newry Chamber
of Commerce & Trade and was instrumental in creating Newry’s
first Local Partnership, helping transform Newry from a border town
into a thriving regional city.
Dr O’Hare has been acclaimed for leading the bid for Newry City
Status which was awarded under Royal Charter by Her Majesty The
Queen as part of Her Majesty’s Golden Jubilee Celebrations.
As a philanthropist Dr O’Hare personally supports many
charitable programmes both at home and across the world not least
in South America, Africa and Asia and inspires many more to help.
Dr O’Hare is a passionate supporter of The Prince’s Trust in
Northern Ireland, joining the local council in 2009 and setting up
the Southern board in 2010 to promote the work of The Trust in the
southern region of Northern Ireland.
