Leeds United football star meets Prince's Trust young
people
Leeds United Defender Leigh Bromby joined 14
young people from The Prince's Trust Get Started with Football
course, run by the Leeds United Foundation.
The Get Started with Football course encourages the
young people realise their ambitions of working in the football
industry, and helps them to develop the confidence and motivation
to progress in employment or further training.
The intensive week-long course run by the Leeds
United Foundation includes learning coaching techniques, first aid
skills and a short refereeing course delivered Football League
referee Bobby Maddley.
When Leigh Bromley joined a recent course, the young people
asked some interesting questions about his footballing
career so far and ambitions for the future. They then
posed for a pitch side photograph with their hero.
Leigh talked to the young people about their experiences on the
course and remarked afterwards:
We all have to start somewhere and this
programme gives the young people a first step towards a
career.
Alan Scorfield from The Leeds United Foundation added,
We are really grateful to Leigh for
giving his support here as it is an inspiration for young people to
meet the players and understand their views on a whole range of
issues. Hopefully some of these young people will get involved in
coaching football and put something back into thier own
communities.
