Globalized Recruitment Services - Andres Vasco
Thirty-year-old Andres Vasco from Camden was
unemployed for four months before getting help from The Prince’s
Trust to set up his own business.
Andres had previously worked as a recruitment consultant
but lost his job in the recession. He said: “It was so frustrating
being out of work. I’m the kind of person who likes to be busy
doing things so it was a real shock to the system at first.”
Andres had always wanted to be his own boss but lacked the
confidence to take the plunge. After being out of work for several
months, he decided to get in touch with The Prince’s Trust and ask
for help to set up his own recruitment agency.
The Prince’s Trust provided Andres with a business mentor and a
£4000 loan, which he used to set up a website, buy a database and
subscribe to professional organisations. Andres also attended
workshops run by The Prince’s Trust, where he learnt the practical
aspects of running a business such as writing a business plan and
managing accounts.
Three months after getting in touch with The Prince’s Trust,
Andres launched Globalized Recruitment Services, an agency
providing civil engineering, technical and construction staff to
companies all around the world.
Andres said: “I love the flexibility and independence that
running your own business brings. The Prince’s Trust has opened up
some many opportunities for me and I’m really grateful for
that.
Andres currently works from home but hopes to open his own
office and take on staff in the next couple of years.
Andres said: “Since I got in touch with The Prince’s Trust, I’ve
never looked back and have been able to achieve my dreams.”
