You can be heroes
ITV daytime show This Morning has launched its
You Can Be Heroes week with the help of HRH The Prince of
Wales.
The campaign aims to raise awareness of the importance of
volunteering in the UK and begins with an exclusive interview with
His Royal Highness aired at 11.30am on Monday 7th January.
During You Can Be Heroes week, This Morning will profile
charitable organisations to demonstrate the contribution made by
volunteers.
In his interview with This Morning presenters Philip Schofield
and Holly Willoughby, The Prince of Wales said:
Trying to raise 50 million pounds plus a year
[for The Prince’s Trust] is quite a challenge but we are very lucky
because there are some wonderful generous people and generous
companies who are prepared to help because they see the added value
of all this and the difference to people’s lives.
On Thursday 10th January, Prince's Trust chief
executive Martina Milburn will appear on the This Morning sofa
with Trust-supported young entrepreneur Jarred King. Jarred talk about how the
Enterprise programme and his volunteer
business mentors helped him get where his is today.
Volunteers
Did you know that The Prince’s Trust values the support of more
than 6,000 volunteers who make up 80% of the organisation?
Volunteers support young people in a variety of ways – through
mentoring, working in our offices or on Prince’s Trust
programmes.
