Chairman
Sir Fred Goodwin DUniv LLB CA FCIBS FCIB LLD
Sir Fred Goodwin is Group Chief Executive of the Royal Bank of Scotland Group plc. Prior to this, he was Chief Executive of Clydesdale Bank PLC and Chief Executive of Yorkshire Bank PLC and previous to that he was a Partner in Touche Ross, and was Chief Operating Officer of the worldwide liquidation of BCCI.

From 1985 to 1987 he led a team of management consultants implementing the change to contractor management at Rosyth Royal Dockyard, and was subsequently retained to advise the incoming contractor. In 1990, he was appointed by HM Government to act as an executive director of the largest industrial employer in Northern Ireland, Short Brothers PLC in the lead up to its privatisation.

His previous experience has extended across a broad range of industry sectors, but has included a particular bias towards banking and financial services. He has also Chaired various Government task forces including examining the work of credit unions and the New Deal programme. In June 2003 he became Chairman of The Prince's Trust, having previously been Chairman of The Prince's Trust - Scotland. He is a former president of the Chartered Institute of Bankers in Scotland.

David Dobbin CBE
David is currently Group Chief Executive of United Dairy Farmers, the largest dairy business in Northern Ireland. He is actively involved in local economic development through a number of public and industry bodies and is currently Chairman of CBI Northern Ireland, a council member of the Northern Ireland Economic Forum and serves on the boards of Food From Britain, the NI Dairy Council, Dairy UK and the Northern Ireland Food and Drink Association.

Patrick Passley
Patrick joined The Council in 2001 and is Managing Director of the Paralegal Charity. He is the former National Amateur Boxing Super-heavyweight Champion and represented Great Britain at the Commonwealth Games. He served as Commissioner for Racial Equality (1999-2003), Special Adviser to the Chair of the Commission for Racial Equality (2003-2004).

Charles Dunstone
Charles joined The Council in 2000 and is the Chairman of Prince's Trust Trading Ltd. At age 25, he set up The Carphone Warehouse with an investment of £6,000 and has since built it into Europe's largest independent retailer of mobile communications.

Heather Hancock
Heather joined The Trust in 2000 as Chairman of our Council for Yorkshire and The Humber and joined The Council in October 2001. Now a partner at Deloitte, she was the first Chief Executive of The Millennium Commission and Chief Executive of the Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority.

Major General Arthur Denaro CBE DL
Arthur joined The Council in 2000. He served with the Army for 35 years and six years was Middle East advisor to the Secretary of State for Defence. He is now undertaking a number of leadership projects worldwide. He was recently appointed Deputy Lord Lieutenant for Herefordshire.

Shonaig Macpherson CBE FRSE
Shonaig is the chair of both The Prince’s Trust Scotland and The Prince’s Scottish Youth Business Trust. She has practiced as an intellectual property lawyer for over 20 years. Recognised as a leader in her field, she retired from law in September 2004 where she was Senior Partner of McGrigors, one of the UK's top 40 law firms.

Michael Marks CBE
Michael is founding partner of NewSmith Capital Partners LLP. He joined the Council in early 2004 after retiring as Chairman of Merrill Lynch Investment Managers. Michael started his career with Smith Bros in 1958 and was appointed a director there in 1975. He became Chief Executive of Smith New Court in 1987 and Executive Chairman 1995.

Diane Louise Jordan
Diane is a television and radio presenter and is a director of Chronicle21, a corporate motivational company. For Chronicle21, her clients have included Microsoft, Marks and Spencer plc and The Royal Bank of Scotland Group. Diane has many charitable commitments. Among these, she is a Vice President of NCH and a trustee of BBC Children in Need.

Michael Maton
A Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales, Michael Maton spent his career in Chartered Accountancy practice as a Partner, with Tansley Witt and Arthur Andersen and then, from 1984 until his retirement in 2005, with Pannell Kerr Forster. He is currently a non-executive director of AEGF Ltd, Taylors of Martley Plc, Backup Staff Ltd, Market Link Creative Marketing Ltd, Property Point Services Ltd and Cotswold House Hotel Ltd. In addition, Michael acts as an Expert Witness in Court for business valuations. For The Prince’s Trust, Michael has been a business mentor since 1985, a member and Chairman of the Herefordshire and Worcestershire Board and the Chairman of the West Midlands Council from September 2005. He was appointed Chairman of The England Council and a Trustee on April 1st 2007.

Simon Fuller
Simon is best known as the manager of The Spice Girls, S Club 7 and David Beckham, as well as being the creator of the Pop Idol series. He remains Chief Executive of 19 Entertainment, a company he established in the mid 1980s, following a career with Chrysalis. Simon has been an active supporter of The Trust for some years.

Lloyd Dorfman CBE
Lloyd Dorfman, Founder and Chairman of the Travelex Group, the world’s largest foreign exchange and business payments specialist.
In 2001 Lloyd Dorfman was the winner of the Consumer Business Category in the UK “Entrepreneur of the Year” awards sponsored by Ernst & Young, Citibank and The Times. In 2002 he received the British American Chamber of Commerce’s UK Entrepreneurial Award, and the Institute of Economic Affairs’ Free Enterprise Award. He is a Non-Executive Director of M & C Saatchi plc, Deputy Chairman of Quest Ltd, a Governor of St Paul’s School, London, Chairman of The Roundhouse, a Director of the Royal National Theatre, and an Honorary Fellow of St Peter’s College, Oxford.

Senior Management Team

The Senior Management Team is responsible for the leadership, strategy and priorities of the organisation, for the delivery of the Business Plan and Budget, and for the overall day to day running of The Trust.

Martina Milburn
Chief Executive
Martina joined us in May 2004, after having been Chief Executive of the BBC Children in Need Appeal since 2000. Overseeing nine regional offices, she was a director of the trading subsidiary Children in Need Ltd and was a member of the BBC's Corporate Social Responsibility Board. Martina trained and began her career as a journalist, established the Press and Communications function for the Catholic Fund for Overseas Development (CAFOD) and worked on a freelance basis for a range of charities. She then held the post of Chief Executive of the Association of Spinal Injury Research, Rehabilitation and Reintegration (ASPIRE) - a service delivery charity - for seven years, growing the staff from five to 100. In this role Martina was responsible for the development of Europe's first integrated arts, sports and rehabilitation centre. Martina is featured in a new book about inspirational women.

Michael Mercieca
Director, Finance & Operations
Interim Director, Wales
Michael joined the Prince’s Trust in June 2003 as Finance Director. He is now responsible for Finance, Operations & Resources across the Trust. Michael comes from a media background and has worked for BBC Worldwide, BSkyB and advised companies such as NTL, Telewest, The Co-operative Bank and Yellow Pages through his own consultancy company, Media Gap.

Geraldine Gammell
Director, The Prince's Trust - Scotland

A graduate from Glasgow University and a chartered accountant by trade, Geraldine Gammell took a career break in 2002 to achieve a better work/life balance. Keen to return to a focused challenging role, Geraldine has since become Director of The Prince’s Trust in Scotland where she is looking forward to bringing her private sector experience to building stronger links between The Prince’s Trust and private sector funders. Geraldine’s certainly taken on a challenge, but one she’s committed to. Through her work she hopes to gain a considerable extra funding to help change many more young lives in Scotland.

Nicola Brentnall
Secretary to The Prince's Trust

Before joining us, Nicola was the Executive Assistant to the Chief Executive of West London Training and Enterprise Council. At The Trust, she's responsible for governance matters and for the administration of The Prince's Trust Council and the Queen’s Silver Jubilee Trust.

Ginny Lunn
Director of Policy and Development

Ginny started her career as a teacher in Leeds then moved to Dublin to be involved in ‘Youth Reach’, a new initiative for young people excluded from school. There she developed new programmes and qualifications for young people to re-engage, motivate and develop their skills, including European youth leadership and peer education programmes. She joined the Prince’s Trust in 1999 initially as Project Manager for ‘Breaking Barriers’ and went on to manage and develop programmes (Live, Europe and Awards) before becoming head of Policy and Development in 2003. In 2007 she was appointed Director of Policy and Development.

Jacob Tas
Director, England
Jacob is responsible for the smooth running of all the operations in the nine regions of England. This ranges from generating income through fundraising to ensuring quality delivery of Prince’s Trust programmes. In addition he is responsible for all aspects of volunteering within The Prince’s Trust nationwide. Jacob joined The Trust at the beginning of 2007 from Royal P&O Nedlloyd where he was a member of the Executive Management team as global HR&D Director before taking on the role of global Operations Director. Jacob holds a Masters degree in Applied Econometrics from the University of Amsterdam and completed the Advanced Management Programme at Oxford University. He has worked as an active volunteer with Amnesty International in Taiwan, the Netherlands and the UK. Jacob is Chair of Trustees of the St. Paul’s Steiner School in Islington, sits on the board of a large Dutch Pension fund and is founding member of the Centre for Narrative Leadership.

Steve Wiggins
HR Director
Steve joined The Trust from Sue Ryder Care, where he had been HR Director for three and a half years. Before Sue Ryder, Steve was at Barclays, where he undertook a number of senior HR jobs, including Head of HR for Barclays Business Banking and HR Director for Barclays Corporate Banking. He has extensive experience in the development of HR strategy, change management, diversity, leadership and management development.

Paul Brown
Director of Marketing and Communications

Paul joined The Trust in 2002 and played a significant role in the re-branding project which came to fruition in September 2003. Paul became head of marketing in 2005 and expanded his role to include brand development, recognition and public fundraising events in 2006. Prior to joining The Trust, Paul was involved in marketing for a range of sports, arts and leisure venues. From 1996 to 2002 he was head of marketing for Arts & Business - a charity which, like The Trust, has HRH The Prince of Wales as its President.

Julian Barrell
Director of Fundraising

Julian joined The Prince’s Trust in 1999 and has held a number of fundraising roles including corporate and major donor development. Since 2002 Julian has led on the creation of The Trust’s successful Leadership Group concept and a number of other new fundraising initiatives including the Invest in Futures gala dinner. Prior to joining The Prince’s Trust, Julian worked in fundraising at the Royal National Lifeboat Institution and Great Ormond Street Hospital.
